In Mothers Day Proclamation Howe explains, in her own poetry words, the goals of the original Mothers Day. In 1872 the Mothers' Peace Day was declared, not yet as an official holiday. Then Mothers' Peace Day became the origin of Mothers Day as a holiday in the United States.
